Bugbaby score complete

The film score for Bugbaby is done! It’s a wacky, crazy, Tim Burton style horror score starring the legendary actress Mink Stole. The film was directed by Rebecca Doppelt, and it’s a beautiful example of camp and kitsch. It’s going to the dub stage in San Francisco tomorrow for the final mix.

Final dub of “The Ringing”

Robert Rollins and I just completed the final audio dub of his film “The Ringing.” I was the film composer and sound designer for this film, and I did the audio mix as well. I am now transitioning immediately to scoring Rebecca Doppelt’s film “BugBaby.”

BugBaby shoot & CRASH!!

I will be the film composer for Rebecca Doppelt’s next film Bugbaby. I was on set today to get a head start by observing her directing, which was fun. I crashed my motorcycle on the way home, which was not. I was hospitalized with a serious concussion and I lost 24 hours of my memory, but I’m okay and the film is going to be great.

I’m now the lead engraver for ZMX Music

I am now the master arranger and head music engraver for the music publisher ZMX Music, which is one part publisher and one part software company. ZMX makes money for songwriters, music publishers, and partner sites with digital sheet music. We take the band’s recordings, create a variety of different sheet music products for different types of fans, and facilitate direct-to-fan sheet music sales through our custom web apps.

Judging for the Vertical Music Awards

Today I had the opportunity to be a judge for the Vertical Music Awards in Bogota, Colombia. I connected with the TV station Vertical Music while on tour in Colombia, and they brought be back for my expertise as a composer and orchestrator. We gave out 20 awards and lots of cash and other prizes. The crowd was crazy, the show was fun, and my buddy Obie Obien and I were among the first people to go down the red carpet for pictures and interviews.

Cartoon music for Humpty Dumpty

This week I have been demoing main title theme songs for an animated TV show about Humpty Dumpty. These spec projects are hit or miss (usually miss) but nothing makes a late night recording session more fun than a tongue twister in song! It’s fun to write silly music once in a while.
