San Francisco Symphony Orchestra

Tomorrow and Saturday the San Francisco Symphony will perform the score from “It’s A Wonderful Life” by Dimitri Tiomkin live in sync with the film. In 1946 the grand finale of the score was cut from the film at the last minute, and the score was eventually lost. For this performance I recreated the full score from the 1946 handwritten instrumental parts. It was an honor, and I wish I could make the show. I worked with Justin Freer from CineConcerts.

Barbra Streisand & Jason Gould

Barbra Streisand is embarking on another tour, and this time she is bringing her son Jason Gould along with her. It is his first time singing publicly, which is not a bad way to start! Working with Brian Benison, I transcribed several songs from his studio album and arranged them for the David Foster ensemble. Streisand & Gould will be on tour next month playing the arrangements in Philadelphia, Brooklyn, Chicago, Vancouver, Las Vegas, San Jose, and the Hollywood Bowl.

Disney & Andy Grammer

Andy Grammer’s most recent music video was a collaboration with Disney on a Radio Disney Family Holiday episode, and I had the privilege of making the sheet music for that shoot. In 2011 Andy became the first male pop star in a decade (since John Mayer in 2002) to reach the Top 10 at Adult Pop Radio on his first two singles. He has taken the music world by storm ever since and has Platinum and Gold albums. I was working with Brian Benison and Drew Allsbrook from The People’s Music Recording Studio.

Dick Van Dyke & Terry Wollman

George Shapiro, the fantastic director of Seinfeld among many others, is currently shooting a documentary currently titled “Vitality At 90.” It’s about people in their 80s, 90s & 100s who are living active remarkable lives. The film interviews Dick Van Dyke, Betty White, Carl Reiner, Stan Lee, and others. Dick Van Dyke does a musical performance of course, and I prepared the sheet music with Terry Wollman for the recording sessions which preceded the film shoot.

Freaks Of Nature film released

Today Colombia Pictures released the film Freaks Of Nature. It’s a comedy horror film directed by Robbie Pickering and written by Oren Uziel. Previously titled “Misfits” and “Kitchen Sink,” the baseline “normal” in this world is vampires, humans and zombies coexisting, but it all goes wrong of course. The film was scored by Fil Eisler, and I orchestrated for him with Penka Kouneva.

Leona Lewis tour

The British superstar Leona Lewis is beginning another world tour September 11, and I helped to transcribe and create all the sheet music for her tour along with Brian Benison. The lead single in the US is “Thunder”, a track that I was responsible for. Leona has sold 20,000,000 records worldwide since winning the third series of The X Factor in 2006.
