Bugbaby plays in more festivals
Bugbaby, the horror short that I scored in the summer of 2010, is turning out to be the little film that could. It continues to get festival screenings and attention, most recently tonight at the Hollywood Fringe Festival here in Los Angeles.
Royal College of Music
Gamelan D’Drum, Stewart Copeland’s piece for orchestra and gamelan will be performed one week from today at the Royal College of Music. The piece is published by G. Schirmer and as always I was Stewart’s orchestrator and music copyist.
Dream Gallery on Amazon’s Hot New Releases
The orchestral album I orchestrated and produced with composer Mark Abel, Dream Gallery, has been in the top 20 on Amazon’s Hot New Releases list for more than a month now, and today we made it up to #2. I’m flattered, proud, and a little surprised all at the same time.
Feature film Crooked Arrows released nationally
Crooked Arrows, the Native American lacrosse film scored by film composer and friend Brian Ralston was released nationally today. I was his music copyist and did the sheet music preparation for the orchestral scoring session at The Bridge.
Fortunes Fools production begins
Fortune’s Fools, my sixth film with director Robert Rollins has begun production. I was on set today to meet the actors and hear Bob’s direction, because it’s enormously helpful to my composing process and gives me a little head start. It will be part of a larger package of movies called Dream Country, and I scored all of the films in it.
Dream Gallery gets nice reviews and videos
Our orchestral album Dream Gallery got a nice review from All Music that describes the album both briefly and well. There is also a new series of composer commentary videos on YouTube. The introduction gives an overview of the album. Dream Gallery is on the Delos Music label.
Outstanding Achievement Award
Film legend Ernest Borgnine won the Outstanding Achievement Award from The Newport Beach Film Festival after sold-out screenings of The Man Who Shook the Hand of Vicente Fernandez. I orchestrated the film for composer Ruy Folguera, and it will be released later this year.
Magic Hourglass wins a Telly Award
I’m proud to announce that The Magic Hourglass won a Telly Award. This is the second Telly I have received in a collaboration with director Robert Rollins, and I look forward to scoring his feature film Dream Country later this year.
